Ramakkal Medu
Ramakkalmedu is a hill station and a hamlet in Idukki district in the state of Kerala. It is located about 15 km from Nedumkandom on the Munnar-Thekkady route.. Abundant in wind, And It provides a panoramic view of Tamil Nadu villages and towns. Ramakkalmedu is the second place in Kerala where a wind energy farm is installed. Currently at about 2.5 MW, there is plan to upgrade it to 12.5 MW which will make it the largest wind farm in Kerala.
Kailasam

Idukki Arch Dam
The Idukki Arch-Dam is situated in Idukki District and its having a underground Power House and that is located at Moolamattom which is like 19 km from Thodupuzha. Idukki Dam is 43 km away from Moolamattom. The Dam is built on the Periyar River, in the ravine between the Kuravan and Kurathi Hills in Kerala, At 167.68 meters, it is one of the highest arch dams in Asia. It started generating power on 4th of October 1975.
Carlvary Mount
Calvary Mount is a Eco-tourism destination in high ranges of Idukki district in Kerala. It is like 12 km from Idukki From the Idukki and Kattapana main road, you can trek from main road up to the top. Or there is jeep safari also.
The entry fee is like Rs 5 per head. And there is a small shop so that you can have some refreshment from there. Though there are huts to stay overnight, they are in a dilapidated condition (as in January 2007). The facility is maintained by Calvary Mount River/Forest Protection Council. |
